The USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships attracts nearly 9,500 athletes and over 20,000 spectators annually. The tournament crowns 19 champions in age divisions ranging from 12 to 18. The event, showcasing the top talent from across the nation, also draws hundreds of college recruiters looking for the next stars for their programs. The City of Dallas will host the 2013 GJNC at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The event, hosted by the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be played between June 28 and July 5. “Dallas has always been a very volleyball friendly location,” USA Volleyball Senior Director Tom Pingel said. “We know that our return to the Metroplex with the GJNC will be a great event.” Dallas has hosted several USA Volleyball national championship events, including the 1998 and 2008 USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships and the 1998 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships. Dallas will also host the final intercontinental round of the FIVB World League June 29 to July 1 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena before hosting the 2012 USA Volleyball Boys’ Junior National Championships July 1-8. Dallas has previously hosted the USA Volleyball Open National Championships in 1960, 1996, 2002 and 2011.
