FEARING’S RESTAURANT NAMED ONE OF THE WORLD’S TOP TEN RESTAURANTS

DALLAS – August 16, 2009. Fearing’s Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas has been named to Hotels Magazine’s new Great Restaurants list for 2009, becoming one of only two restaurants in North America to be included on the high-profile global list.

Hotels Magazine selects ten restaurants each year for top-ten inclusion, with voting conducted by a panel of acclaimed restaurateurs, chefs, and food and beverage industry professionals. From room design and menus to actual food quality and service, all aspects of the winning restaurants are examined in depth, with this year’s newly-announced winners located in France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Dubai, China, Argentina and the United States.

The inclusion of Fearing’s in the Hotels Great Restaurants list was accompanied by a review highlighting its cuisine as being “last meal-worthy.” Also lauded were Fearing’s seven different dining settings, with a special nod to the live oak trees and outdoor fireplace of the Live Oak Bar, and the restaurant’s exterior waterworks and 6,000-bottle selection of boutique and rare vintage wines.

Fearing’s Restaurant opened in August 2007 and was recently named North America’s #1 hotel restaurant by Zagat Survey 2009. The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas won a concurrent 2009 ranking by Zagat as the #1 large hotel in North America, while The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas hotel, its spa and Fearing’s Restaurant were all named to the Cond Nast Traveler Hot List for 2008 – a single-property first for the hospitality industry. Offering award-winning “bold flavors, no borders” cuisine in seven distinct dining settings including the popular Rattlesnake Bar and Dean’s Kitchen, Fearing’s Restaurant is the creation of beloved Texas chef Dean Fearing, one of the founders of Texas regional cuisine and a founding member of popular all-chefs band, the Barbwires.
