DFW International Airport

Situated between Dallas and Fort Worth, DFW International Airport (DFW) is the world's fourth busiest, offering approximately 1,750 flights daily with 57 million passengers annually. It provides non-stop service to more than 190 destinations worldwide, including nearly 50 international cities, making global travel to Dallas and Fort Worth fast and convenient.

Major airlines include: American, Delta, Continental, Northwest, United, British Airways and US Airways in addition to six low-cost carriers offering services throughout the US.

DFW International Airport offers:

  • Located 20 miles or 25 minutes from downtown Dallas.
  • Service to more than 175 international and domestic destinations.
  • Daily nonstop international departures serving destinations in Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe and Asia.
  • 930 Daily Departures.
  • Five terminals offering 174 aircraft boarding gates.
  • Baggage claim, ground transportation, ticket counters, and security entrances at each terminal to reduce wait time and long lines.
  • Wireless internet connections available throughout all 5 terminals.
  • Two on-airport hotels: the luxury Grand Hyatt Hotel with 298 rooms located at International Terminal D and the Hyatt Regency DFW adjacent to Terminal C with 811 rooms and 92,000 square feet of function space.

Several ground transportation options are available from DFW Airport including shuttle service, automobile rentals, taxi cabs, and limousine. By 2013, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will provide services to DFW Airport.

Love Field

Just minutes from downtown, Dallas Love Field (DAL) is served by three airlines and is home to Southwest Airlines. Via Dallas Love Field, Southwest offers over 130 direct and connecting flights daily to destinations across the country. In addition to Southwest Airlines, Continental Express and American Airlines also serve the airport. American Airlines/American Eagle offers 6 flights daily to destinations throughout Kansas, San Antonio and Austin. Continental offers 6 flights daily to Houston.

The Wright Amendment Compromise enacted in October 2006, will lead to increased air travel opportunities through Dallas Love Field. As part of the changes (repeal), Dallas Love Field will reduce its number of passenger gates from 32 to 20. The repeal allows for: immediate through-ticketing to domestic and foreign airports, Love Field to only handle domestic non-stop flights. Southwest Airlines now flies to destinations outside of the original Wright zone. The complete repeal of the Wright Amendment will occur in 2014.

Dallas Love Field offers:

  • Location just 7 miles and 10 minutes for downtown Dallas
  • Three runways
  • Approximately 300 flights daily
  • One terminal
  • Love Field Conference Center
  • 32 gates (with reduction to 20)

For transportation, public transportation through DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) and Taxi Cab Service are also available. Additional options include car rental and shuttle services.
