Industry Update

Brad Kent, Chief Sales & Services Officer/Senior Vice President, Dallas CVB, presented to the Hotel Association of North Texas (HANTX) a forward looking view of group business demand for the coming 8 years, noting that there is a trend in odd years that group business is softer than even years, and for the hotels to look at their 2017 & 2019 business now and secure it as quickly as feasible for their business.  STR is lowering projections for growth in transient segments, so there will be increased competition for group business in the near term.
