It is the perfect time (and weather) to check it out, and while you're in the area, why not experience all the diverse vibrancy of East Dallas? We put together a list of things to do in East Dallas, but you can build one that's customized for you at Utrip.

First day in East Dallas (remember, you can make it your own adventure!)

Hypnotic Donuts

From the Evil Elvis (a donut with peanut butter, bacon, banana, and honey) to Expresso Yourself (a chocolate cake donut made with real coffee icing, in house salted caramel, and a sprinkle of fresh ground coffee), Hypnotic Donuts sells donuts that are unique, fun, and most importantly, delicious. They also bake up a selection of chicken biscuits.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Often referred to as the "crown jewel of the Dallas parks system", the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden stretches over 60 stunning acres. Also named as one of the world's fifteen "most breathtaking" gardens, the arboretum provides the perfect space to soak up some sun, enjoy picturesque views and bronze statue exhibits, or explore the garden with the kids. Beauty is around every corner, so be sure you're camera-ready.

Sundown at Granada

From its tasty pizza, burgers, and sandwiches to its beer garden with a selection of over 60 beers, Sundown at Granada is a local favorite. All the cuisine is made with fresh ingredients and there are many vegetarian options.  Their rooftop patio offers live music every night and is a lovely spot to enjoy an evening.

Pocket Sandwich Theatre

Tasty food and quality local, live performances, what could be better? The folks at Pocket Sandwich Theatre claim that their performances are 'the most fun you can have in a Dallas Theatre'. They produce local shows that include comedies, melodramas, musicals and theatrical dramas. Most of their shows are family friendly and are sure to be a Dallas trip highlight.

Second day in East Dallas

Cultivar

Cultivar's scrumptious coffee coupled with its sleek interior design, create a delightful experience for any coffee lover. The coffee is made with in-house roasted beans and has a very rich flavor. If you are a coffee aficionado or need a little caffeine oomph, Cultivar is a great choice!

White Rock Farmers Market

If you want to experience the local side of East Dallas, then head to the White Rock Farmers Market on a Saturday morning. The market showcases some of the best farm produce, local artisans, and craftsmen, and also hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Find something special to bring home or spend your morning people watching and becoming immersed in the local culture. Saturdays only

White Rock Lake

Over the years, White Rock Lake has become a Dallas treasure. The lake provides a variety of outdoor activities and special events. The trail around the lake is over 9 miles long and is one of the best ways to experience nature and wildlife in an urban setting. Whether you are here at sunrise or sunset, this Dallas beauty will put you at ease. Rentals are available for kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards.

Bath House Cultural Center

Located on the dazzling White Rock Lake, the Bath House Cultural Center is a welcoming destination for both visual and performing artists in Dallas. The historic Bath House has three art galleries, a museum, and a theatre. Stop by this center while visiting the White Rock Lane and you may be lucky enough to find a live show or a cultural event!

Keller's Drive-in

Drive in to this classic burger joint to experience some finger-lickin' good burgers for a reasonably low price! Top it off with a beer or a creamy milkshake. Keller's Drive-In provides the perfect place for reminiscing about the good old days while satisfying your hunger.

The Granada Theater

If you are looking for some live music and entertainment during your visit to Dallas, then step (or dance) into the historic Granada Theater. The Art Deco interior of the theater reflects the decadence of the 1940s, when the theater was constructed. The music quality is awesome, and since it is standing room only, there are no bad seats in the house.
