A Night at the Meyerson, featuring hundreds of vocal and instrumental musicians and the world premiere of award-winning composer Eriks Ešenvalds's newest choral composition, written specifically for the Southwestern Music Festival. Mr. Ešenvalds will be in attendance, visiting from his native Latvia. Mr. Ešenvalds is a much sought-after composer having received many awards for his work, including the Latvian Grand Music Award three times, first prize from the International Rostrum of Composers, the New-Composer Discovery of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and two CDs that were awarded Best Latvian Classical Album of the Year. Also featuring soloist Raehann Bryce-Davis, a native Texas from the DFW area, who is the winner of the 2016 Richard F. Gold Career Grant, the 2015 9th International Hilder Zadek Competition in Vienna, the 2015 Metropolitan Opera National Council Pittsburgh District, the 2015 Sedat Gürel, currently performing in Belgium as a part of the Opera Vlassnderen.
