The Oak Cliff Cultural Center proudly presents "No Unsacred Places," a photography and sculpture exhibition by Peter Hiatt. "No Unsacred Places" will be on display from March 4, 2017 - April 7, 2017, with an artist reception on March 4, 2017, from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Both the exhibit and reception are FREE and open to the public. About the Exhibit "There are no unsacred places; there are only sacred places and desecrated places." – Wendell Berry In much of the country, retail centers are a dominant feature of the landscape. Along their perimeter, many of these places have a drainage ditch with trees that are grown dense and high. The microcosmic world held inside these ditches is shockingly, defiantly natural, even though it has been given shape artificially. The photographs that I make show a world that is as close as our backyard, but we shut it out, because it displeases us. We live apart from nature because we choose to. It frightens us, so we cover it in concrete.
