The Wedding Singer
Music Hall at Fair Park

April 15-27
THE WEDDING SINGER kicks off the Dallas Summer Musicals' 2008 season at the Music Hall at Fair Park. The Tony® nominated Broadway musical comedy called by Newsday "One Big Party! A good-natured, high-energy musical," is based on the 1998 hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It's the 1980s, with junk bonds, MTV, leg warmers and Duran Duran, but Robbie Hart lives in his grandmother's basement in New Jersey and sings in a wedding band. Dreams of being a singer/songwriter are gone, replaced by a desire to find the right girls and settle down. When his fiancée leaves him at the altar, he becomes a wedding planner's worst nightmare, taking out his bitterness on stage. .

Dracula
Music Hall at Fair Park
April 19-20
BE THRILLED AND BE CHILLED when Texas Ballet Theater performs Ben Stevenson's Dracula. It's ballet to die for! Set to the haunting music of Franz Liszt, the story opens in Dracula's castle, where ghostly lighting illuminates the Count's cold crypt. The atmosphere breathes with the spirit of evil and the smell of darkness as Dracula seals his latest marriage - with a bite! Festivities in the picturesque village cannot escape the foreboding shadow cast by the Count on the hunt. Ensnaring his latest victim in his vast bat-shaped cloak, he carries her away in a frenzied coach ride, careening toward the castle gate. But this time, the Count tangles with the wrong maiden!
