Deep Ellum

In the 1920s, Deep Ellum was the Southwest’s hub for blues and African-American art and culture. Today, its offbeat bars reverberate with that same vibe, doling out live music and cold drinks nightly.

The scene: a vibrant and diverse, predominantly 20-something crowd

Find it: Deep Ellum is named after its focal point – Elm Street spelled with a Southern drawl – and is located northeast of downtown on the East side of N. Central Expressway.

Greenville Avenue

Dallas is a city that knows its trends, which is evident on Greenville Avenue. The neighborhood’s restaurants and pubs are eclectic and hip.

The scene: Restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a lively café scene draw an avid set of regulars on Friday and Saturday nights.

Find it: Greenville Avenue is located in northeast Dallas, spanning from Ross Avenue to Mockingbird Lane.

Knox-Henderson

This district is named after a street that changes names as it crosses North Central Expressway. The Knox side of the street is known for savvy shopping and a charming set of restaurants, while the Henderson side is the site of the party, with fab nightclubs and trendsetting bistros.

The scene: Just follow the fashionistas through this bustling area as they head for their favorite sushi restaurant, Latin café or bar.

Find it: Knox-Henderson is north of downtown, where North Central Expressway divides Knox Street/Henderson Avenue.

West Village

This upscale development of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants has become one of Dallas’ most popular hangouts.

The scene: You’ll see friends catching up with each other over a late-night latte or celebrating a special occasion over a bottle of wine, almost always on the patios that line the streets. With everything from wine bars to burger joints, the options are boundless.

Find it: The West Village is near the end of the McKinney Avenue Trolley line and fills the area between Blackburn Street and Lemmon Avenue.

This is only the beginning. Check out Dallas’ other red-hot entertainment districts.
