Nothing screams fall like pumpkins! Autumn at the Arboretum is a pumpkin wonderland. Enjoy the fall foliage, flowers and vast array of displays at the Dallas Arboretum. If that isn’t enough, take home your very own pumpkin for carving or baking. Interested in a little live music? Then make a day out of it by enjoying a free concert on the lawn.

Howdy folks! Big Tex is waiting to greet the whole family at this year’s State Fair of Texas. Celebrating 125 years of midway magic, the fair is home to fun, free concerts and a feast of fried foods. This year the State Fair and the Dallas Arboretum have teamed up to offer the Dallas Fall Garden Getaway, a combo ticket that lets you enjoy the fair and the arboretum for one low price.

The end of summer doesn’t mean the end of some of your favorite locally-produced veggies. Grab a basket and head out to the Dallas Farmers Market for your choice of fresh squashes, greens, peppers, pumpkins and more. Why not make a game of it and see who can fill their basket first? Head north of Dallas to Grapevine to check out two of the area’s new attractions. Spend your day (or days) constructing a mighty fortress using the more than 2 million Lego bricks at Legoland or head next door and explore all of the wonderful creatures under the sea at the Sealife Aquarium. Purchase combo tickets online and save.

Surround yourself in luxury at the Four Seasons Resort and Club. Take a splash in the pool or play where the pros do on the TPC golf course. Enjoy a myriad of treatments at the spa or simply relax in the confines of opulence and have a fine dining experience all your own. But don’t rush, there’s plenty of time to take it all in.

Step back in time with an overnight stay at the Corinthian Bed and Breakfast. Get away from it all, while remaining close to the center of action at this quaint, historic gem located northeast of downtown. Once you’ve checked in, check out local area amenities including the Dallas Arts District, Fair Park and the Sixth Floor Museum.

Dine on delectable treats of your own creation by taking in one of the numerous cooking classes offered throughout the area. A little panicky around pasta or traumatized by tuna? Then let the experienced chefs at Central Market or Dallas Farmers Market show you how to conquer your food fears.
