Dining with a Twist

If fine dining is a must during your stay in Big ‘D’ then there are some restaurants that fit the bill perfectly.

Southern charm, scrumptious cuisine and live music are the perfect blend at House of Blues. Take in an evening concert or get inspired as you join others for their famous Sunday Gospel brunch.

Just north of downtown, is Uptown – a trendy collection of boutiques, eateries, pubs and shopping spots. Stroll the streets or hop on the free McKinney Avenue Trolley to explore the area. For dinner try Sambuca, a great place to see and be seen, where live music in the form of jazz, blues, crooner, or soft rock add to the already sophisticated atmosphere.

For a casual, good time try Gator’s Croc & Roc in the West End. Join in the nightly sing-a-long piano show while you enjoy Cajun and Tex-Mex favorites. Don’t’ forget to try one of their signature frozen drinks while you check out the view from their rooftop patio.

Eclectic Eats

When in Dallas, eat like the Dallasites do. Here are a few places where you can partake in some of Texas' signature cuisine.

For a truly unique dining experience try Hibashi Teppan Grill and Sushi Bar. This Asian fusion restaurant combines fast-blade artistry with fresh flavors to produce a palate-pleasing experience for even the most finicky eaters. With a 40-ft sushi bar, more than 100 kinds of sake and nightly flare shows, there’s something for everyone.

Minutes from downtown is Knox-Henderson, a popular two-street shopping area that crosses Central Expressway. Spend your day perusing the area’s many shops, boutiques and galleries. After you’ve worked up an appetite, head to Villa-O for something organic and original in true Italian fashion. Sample their collection of fresh pastas and numerous wines in a contemporary and sophisticated atmosphere.

For a heartier fare, try Fogo de Chao. At this authentic churrascaria, you’ll be waited on by gauchos who will pile the portions on until you say stop!
