Diversity & Inclusion - Executive Update
April 2018

The 2018 Texas Diversity and Leadership Conference, held at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel, April 11-13 attracted approximately 800 Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and business leaders to the DFW area to hear from experts and discuss inclusion as a source of innovation. The conference booked three consecutive years in the DFW area.

Phillip Jones, VisitDallas President and CEO, hosted the 2nd annual African American Community Leaders reception at the Network Bar in Trinity Groves, April 19 as part of our stakeholder engagement and advocacy building efforts. Approximately 89 community leaders gathered to hear about the mission and programs of VisitDallas, particularly the launch of our Dallas: The African American Experience, a self-guided civil rights tour and accompanied video series. The brochure, website and videos highlight Dallas' rich diverse history and landmarks while telling the civil rights story in Dallas. Thanks to all the elected officials, community leaders and historians that participated in this project.
