Perot Museum of Nature and Science

In Downtown Dallas lives one of the most interactive attractions on this list is the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. It is designed to spark curiosity in visitors of all ages, with eleven carefully designed permanent exhibits offering hands-on learning experiences. Known for its astonishing features and eco-friendly designs, the Perot is the perfect place to make memories with friends and family.
Be sure to check out their special exhibit, “Soccer: More Than a Game,” which reveals how physics, biology, and technology shape every aspect of the game, on and off the field. General admission tickets are $15-$25 for non-members. Tickets must be pre-purchased for specific dates and times to be admitted.
Dallas Weltaquarium

Down the street from the Perot Museum, in an old warehouse, is the Dallas World Aquarium, a multi-level, indoor zoological facility with a focus on conservation and biodiversity. The layout is a winding path starting in a high-canopy rainforest, descending through specialized ecosystems. The ending features extensive saltwater and freshwater marine exhibits.
The Dallas World Aquarium is open daily from 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $18.95 for children (3–12) and $26.95 for adults. Parking is available in two lots next to the aquarium and street parking is also available. Dont forget to check out the bookstore and gift shop!
Dallas Museum of Art

Also in Downtown Dallas, the Dallas Museum of Art is one of the 10 largest art museums in the United States. The museum’s permanent collection contain more than 25,000 art peices with some dating back more than five millennia. The permanent exhibits on display are in galleries devoted to Arts of the Americas, Arts of Africa, Contemporary Art, Arts of Asia, American Art, Decorative Arts and Design, Classical Art, Latin American Art, Arts of the Pacific Islands, European Art, and Texas Art.
The best part is general admission to the DMA is free and visitors must reserve tickets in advance. The DMA is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and is open 11 a.m to 5 p.m Wednesday – Sunday. Also, take advantage of visiting Klyde Warren Park right across the street, a green space connecting Dallas’ vibrant Uptown neighborhood with its award-winning Arts District.
Dallas Arboretum und Botanischer Garten

Wander through the alluring environment that is the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden in East Dallas. This is a must visit outdoor spot sprawling with beautiful flowers and greenery – perfect for photos or just a relaxing stroll. In the summertime, enjoy thei concert series with live, local music overlooking White Rock Lake.
Feel free to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy a picnic in one of the many gardens or choose from one of the many dining options available. The arboretum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $17 for adults (13-64), $14 for seniors (65+) and $12 for children (2-12).
Dallas Contemporary Museum

Catch local Dallas artist Francisco Moreno’s ‘Historia Sintética’ exhibit available until October 11, 2026. Don’t miss out especially because general admission is free! The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Reunion-Turm

The most iconic landmark that accentuates the beautiful Dallas Skyline, and a must visit attraction, is the Reunion Tower – hopefully you’re not afraid of heights! The tower is 561 feet tall but thankfully the GeO-Deck, the observation deck, is closer to the ground at 470 feet. Here, you’ll get breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the city whether it’s day or night.
Touch-screen displays inside the GeO-Deck allow you to learn more about other iconic landmarks around the city of Dallas. You can even get adventurous and step outside to feel the wind in your hair as you take in the sights. Tickets can be purchased online. Adult tickets range $19-$40, seniors (65+) $16-$35, children (4-12) $10-$20 and children 3 and under are free. The Reunion Tower is open daily.
Katy-Pfad

Visit Uptown Dallas and take a little nature break and take in some sunlight at the Katy Trail. Make your way through 3.5 miles of path that once followed the old Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. In addition to Turtle Creek Park, the trail traverses Reverchon Park and offers several photo worthy overlooks.
Also, you can stop anytime to visit one any of the worthwhile restaurants along the trail, like the Katy Trail Ice House, with great patio seating. The Katy Trail is open to the public and available for visit daily from 5 a.m. to midnight.
Nasher Sculpture Center

Designed by Prizker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, the Nasher Sculpture Center is located in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. It is home to the finest modern and contemporary sculpture collection in the world. Art lovers who enjoy iconic artworks from Calder, Matisse, Picasso, and Rodin will have a ball visiting the galleries and gardens.
Exhibitions rotate on display with works from the Nasher Collection as well as special exhibitions from other museums and private collections. The Market, a 26,000 square foot food hall and artisanal vendor market, is a vibrant hub for fresh produce, good food, local goods, and meeting the Dallas community. Visit on Saturdays and Sundays to explore The Shed, an open-air pavilion where regional vendors who grow, raise, make and produce food set up shop.
