HEAVY INK - A Printmaking Party
Get ready to roll—literally! The Cedars Union is bringing the ink, the energy, and the art with HEAVY INK – A Printmaking Party, happening May 31st from 11 AM to 3 PM. This interactive, ticketed event ($45) is more than just a hands-on art experience—it’s a full-on celebration of creativity, community, and the bold, beautiful world of printmaking.
The fun kicks off at Four Corners Brewing Company, where guests will check in, grab a craft beer, and dive into their first printmaking adventure with the PRESS + PLAY station, inviting guests of all-ages to create their own LEGO block prints. Things get inkier next door at The Cedars Union with interactive, collaborative relief prints printed on an etching press and a letterpress demonstration, both producing prints guests can take home.
Across both locations, Four Corners and The Cedars Union, local artists will be selling their own prints of limited-edition artwork. Shop work from local university print clubs, and snap up zines, posters, and hand-pulled prints at accessible prices!
Don’t miss the main event: Giant, woodblock prints carved by artists Zeke Williams, Desireé Vaniecia, Alec DeJesus, and others will be pressed live by commercial steamroller. Attendees can enter to win one of the massive steamroller prints with proceeds going to support The Cedars Union’s mission to uplift rising creatives in Dallas.
