Breaking news! PDNB Gallery is extending their current show, Portraits of Frida, through November 9, 2024. The exhibition will be paired with the upcoming show for Al Satterwhite that opens Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Portraits of Frida by Lucienne Bloch and Nickolas Muray has been extremely popular this summer. Attendance has been record-breaking for a summer season show. The gallery celebrated Frida’s birthday with a talk by Frida Kahlo scholar, Salomon Grimberg, and a birthday party, including a delightful set of pinatas that have become an Instagram moment for many. And the Dallas Museum of Art is opening a show of works by Frida Kahlo later this month. Frida remains a popular icon in the art world!
This exhibition will include the highly sought-after portrait, Frida with Red Scarf, and Frida on White Bench, both by Nickolas Muray. Also, the well-loved Lucienne Bloch photographs, Frida biting her necklace and Frida in front of the unfinished Unity Panel.
