DIFF SHORTS Film Festival Returns to Dallas October 2025
WHAT: DIFF SHORTS Film Festival 2025 will be held October 17–19 at Angelika Film Center & Café in Mockingbird Station. Dedicated to elevating short films and celebrating their creators the second annual festival will feature 12 themed blocks with 85+ films plus Q&As industry panels daily red carpets and receptions for filmmakers and sponsors.
Programmers Choice Awards will be given for Best Narrative Film Best Texas Film Best Music Video Best Animated Film Best Documentary Film and Best First-Time Filmmaker. Audience Awards will include these categories along with Best College Student Film and Best High School Student Film.
This year’s Shorts Blocks bring together a wide mix of stories and styles. From heartfelt journeys through grief to fresh perspectives from student filmmakers from family-friendly adventures and coming-of-age tales to explorations of identity and relationships the lineup is vibrant and varied. Audiences can also look forward to late-night thrills sports-themed stories Latino voices music videos and more. Each block is curated to showcase the creativity and diversity of today’s short-film landscape making every screening a unique cinematic experience.

ABOUT DIFF: DIFF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2006 as the Dallas Film Society Inc. It provides inclusive educational and entertaining film experiences through year-round programs including screenings and talks for high school students advanced film screenings collaborations with community partners premieres and special events.
