See the holiday lights
Klyde Warren Park will host Holidays in the Park on Dec. 2 with fun activities, food and music followed by a Christmas tree lighting to round out the night. Take a shopping trip to the Galleria Dallas and see the country's tallest indoor tree at the Grand Tree Lighting Celebration on Nov. 24-25, with special performances by Olympic Gold Medalist figure skaters. Visit the Dallas Zoo after dark for the first Dallas Zoo Lights experience starting on Nov. 17. The zoo will transform into a winter wonderland covered in nearly one million lights! And ring in the new year with the AT&T Streaming Lights at Reunion Tower. This stunning fireworks show will light up the Dallas skyline with synchronized music and will feature more than 4,000 special effects. (PS: if you can't make it to Reunion Tower, the fireworks show will broadcast regionally on NBC 5/KXAS-TV).
Make it merry and bright
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is always a sight to see any time of year and it's extra special during the holidays with Holiday at the Arboretum, opening Nov. 4-Jan. 8. The garden's highlight is the 12 Days of Christmas exhibit, made up of 25-foot Victorian style gazebos filled with characters of the famous Christmas carol. Take the kids to see the Trains at NorthPark to be mesmerized by more than 750 railcars on a giant configuration of tracks and scenes.
Take your pictures with Santa
Get the kids dressed in their best for pictures with Santa. Head to GeO-Deck at Reunion Tower for visits from Santa and his elves, and enjoy a balloon artist and holiday treats from Cloud Nine Café. NorthPark Center will have one-on-one visits with Santa in the perfect setting of Santa's living room with a fireplace and a Christmas tree, and stay for story time where your little ones will hear magical stories about the North Pole and more.
Experience a holiday-themed performance
Enjoy a Broadway or ballet performance at one of the biggest stages in Dallas. If you're in the mood for theater, see "A Christmas Carol," from Nov. 22- Dec. 28 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, or go for a family-friendly show with "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical," playing Dec. 5-17 at the Winspear Opera House. And catch a classic performance of The Nutcracker at AT&T Performing Arts Center by Texas Ballet Theater from Nov. 25-Dec. 3.
