Description

The Meadows Museum and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, present the first major U.S. exhibition dedicated to Spanish sculptor Alonso Berruguete (c. 1488–1561). Sculptures, paintings, and drawings spanning the artist's entire career - which included a period in Italy under the influence of Michelangelo and others - demonstrate his innovative talent and place him as a vanguard of the Spanish Renaissance.
