Dallas Chamber Symphony sets the mood for Valentine's Day with a musical evening of romance on Tuesday, February 11th at Moody Performance Hall. Led by Artistic Director and Conductor Richard McKay, the "Tchaikovsky Serenade" concert is comprised of three elegant and beautiful pieces. Samuel Barber's Serenade Op. 1, written at the age of 18, is mature, sophisticated in harmony, and rarely performed. Goyana Sketches, written by Franz Waxman, a winner of two Oscars and a Golden Globe Award, will feature acclaimed pianist Kyle Orth, a Texas Christian University graduate and winner of the Dallas International Piano Competition. Finishing the evening is Tchaikovsky's beloved Serenade for Strings, a staple of the chamber repertoire and one of the composer's most popular works.
