Baroque Trumpeter Adam Gordon performs on Sunday, 8 March, at 3pm. On baroque trumpet, Adam Gordon has performed with many of the major period instrument ensembles in the United States including the Boston Camerata and Banchetto Musicale, the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and American Bach Soloists in San Francisco; the Portland (Oregon) Baroque Orchestra, and Ars Lyrica Houston and Houston Bach Society in Texas. The Dallas Morning News said that "Adam Gordon played the valveless trumpet as if nothing could be easier." In a review of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #2 with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, the Oregonian said that "Gordon's playing was brilliant." On this program, he will play music of Purcell, Scarlatti, Gabrielli, Torelli, and others, accompanied by harpsichordist Benjamin Kolodziej. Soprano soloist Gabrielle Gilliam will join on several selections. This concert is free and open to the public. A reception will be held in the parish hall following the concert.
