Wylie will be wide awake when the sixth annual Bluegrass on Ballard rolls into historic downtown. The day-long event features world-class bluegrass bands, over 100 booths with art, crafts, unique items, and other vendors, a 200-vehicle car show with prizes in several categories, pony rides, and a chili cook-off. Musicians of any skill level invited to bring their instruments and jam with the pros in the park, on Ballard Avenue, or in one of the shops or restaurants. Bands scheduled to perform on the stage in shady Olde City Park include The Herrins, Salt Creek, Pine Island Station, Texas & Tennessee, featuring Steve Huber and John R. Bowman, The Po' Ramblin' Boys, and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band.
