Tina's Journey/El Viaje de Tina

Next: Thu 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Latino Cultural Center

Co-produced? ?with the Laboratorio de la Ma?scara (Mask Laboratory) from Mexico City, ?Tina's Journey? is a delightful and moving production featuring Mexican folk masks indicative of the movie ?Coco?. This highly visual and entertaining production is performed mostly in Spanish with English supertitles. A rare and unique international co-production for families and children, ?Tina's Journey? is about a young girl who places a piece of her native land in her pocket and her personal history in her heart before traveling with her parents across the border. She also leaves a trail of marigolds for her ancestors to safely follow her family in time for the Day of the Dead. However, in the United States, Tina believes that her past has abandoned her but her eldest ancestor helps her understand that the coexistence of the two cultures will form part of her new identity.
