Come and experience the magical tale of Krakatuk: A Nutcracker Prequel. Youth Ballet of Texas presents this enchanting tale of mice, greed, magic and bravery. Our story is based on the story of 'The Hard Nut', contained in the original E.T.A. Hoffmann tale, Nussknacker und Mausekonig. Krakatuk depicts a dilemma of epic proportions involving a mouse's curse, a princess in distress, and Drosselmieir's search for the hardest nut in the world and the boy who can break the nut and free the princess. Told as a bedtime story, Krakatuk answers all of the questions you may have had about the Nutcracker ballet. This ballet sets the story for the events of the Nutcracker, where the brave and selfless Marie (Clara) becomes the heroine of the Nutcracker story, through her unconditional love of the enchanted boy, Theo. Come and see why audiences rave about the unforgettable experience that is Krakatuk. Some sound effects in the show may be distressing to small infants or children with sensitivities
