Heard After Hours: Star Party

Our beautiful night sky is a disappearing resource! Find out why at our Magic Planet exhibit and then head outside to view the spring constellations and the one-day-old moon, along with varying star clusters and nebulae. Perhaps Mars will even put in an appearance above our western tree line! A telescope station and binocular station will be provided, family-friendly activities will be available near the viewing area, and the exhibit hall will be open. Guests are welcome to bring lawn/camp chairs or waterproof seating, as well as snacks or a picnic to enjoy at designated areas. Long-pants and closed-toed shoes highly recommended. Children ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please be advised that unhampered night vision is critical for everyone's enjoyment of a night-sky event. This means that headlamps are not permitted and that flashlights should be covered with red cellophane. (We'll have the cellophane and rubber bands available).
