TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND Presents YUE YIN DANCE COMPANY
Every season, TITAS takes a close look at the international touring scene to see which artists are emerging with something truly distinctive. This year, that company is YUE YIN Dance Company (YYDC).
Founded in 2018, YUE Yin has become known for a movement vocabulary that is entirely her own. She calls it FOCO Technique™, a contemporary dance language rooted in Chinese classical and folk traditions and shaped by the layered influences of the immigrant experience.
What stands out most when watching YUE’s work is the sheer density of movement, the shifting dynamics she weaves into each phrase and the incredible magnetic quality of the dancers.
YYDC is distinctive, powerful, and exhilarating to watch. There’s nothing quite like the excitement of discovering an artist at this moment, and YUE YIN Dance Company is exactly that kind of discovery.
