National Dog Day
Dog Day 2026, hosted by The Barkday Planner and Presented by VEG, is Dallas’ premier National Dog Day celebration, a high-energy community event bringing together dogs and the people who love them for an unforgettable afternoon of fun, connection, and giving back.
Taking place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Backyard Dallas, Dog Day has grown from a small celebration into one of the largest dog-centered events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The event is expected to welcome more than 500 attendees and their pups for a day filled with adoptable dogs, local vendors, interactive brand activations, contests, photo opportunities, treats, and tail wags around every corner.
Produced by The Barkday Planner, a Dallas-based pet event company known for creating elevated experiences for dog parents, Dog Day is designed to celebrate the special bond between people and their pets while supporting organizations making a difference in the rescue community.
Dog Day is proud to benefit Live Like Roo, which provides financial and emotional support to families navigating a canine cancer diagnosis, and North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue, a foster-based rescue dedicated to helping dogs find their forever homes.
