Festival of Joy
Dallas’ Most Vibrant Spring Tradition Hits Klyde Warren Park April 18!
A kaleidoscope of color, music, and pure energy is set to transform the heart of the city as the seventh-annual Festival of Joy returns to Klyde Warren Park on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Inspired by a 3,000-year-old global tradition, this free, family-friendly celebration brings color and joy to Downtown Dallas. Presented by the legendary East Dallas restaurant Kalachandji’s, the day features a massive chariot parade, soulful concert, family activities and the famous free vegetarian feast for thousands of North Texas neighbors.
The Main Event: The Great Chariot Pull and A New Spring Spectacle "The Ribbon Wave" at Noon.
The festival kicks off at 11 A.M. with a welcome ceremony of traditional dance and drumming.
At 12 P.M., the "Great Chariot Pull" begins. A momentous occasion where hundreds of neighbors grab long ropes to pull a colorful, towering chariot through the Dallas Arts District in a powerful display of community teamwork.
In a new twist for 2026, the festival will feature the "Ribbon Wave". To make our city colorful, attendees will wave vibrant silk "Joy Wands," creating a mesmerizing sea of color that captures the spirit of the season and our city.
