Dr. Tracy Everbach, professor of journalism at the University of North Texas and former Dallas Morning News reporter, explores the careers of women whose persistence and commitment to public service expanded opportunities in journalism and influenced generations of reporters. Inspired by the Museum’s special exhibition, "On Assignment: Dallas Times Herald 1963", the program highlights the pioneering career of Vivian Castleberry, whose reporting and editorial leadership brought greater attention to issues often overlooked by the mainstream press. Castleberry’s story demonstrates the role female journalists played in shaping both the news and the communities they served.
