A visit to Street's Fine Chicken reminds me of those Sunday afternoon lunches with my grandparents at Black-eyed Pea (the same family behind Street's). Replacing the original Black-eyed Pea storefront along Cedar Springs Road, this modern comfort food restaurant serves up French-styled fried chicken with honey butter biscuits, alongside other Southern-inspired classics like siracha spiked deviled eggs and brie mac and cheese.
Rudy's
You can't talk about fried chicken in Dallas without a mention of Rudy's, one of the most popular fast food chicken joints in the city. Rudy's fans can't stop raving about the restaurant's special secret seasoning used on piping hot chicken and golden-brown fries. Depending on the time of the day you visit, prepare for a line at this neighborhood favorite, but trust me; it's worth the wait!
Pecan Lodge
Most know Pecan Lodge for its mouthwatering brisket, pulled pork and beef ribs; however, the fried chicken adds just another reason to make sure you visit this Dallas staple. The fried chicken is a family recipe that comes from Pecan Lodge co-founder, Diane Fourton's Mamaw. The recipe is a simple combo of buttermilk, flour, salt, black pepper and onion powder. I have no doubt it tastes just like Mamaw's!

Have a late-night craving for fried chicken? (they're open until 2 a.m.!) Look no further than Brick and Bones in Deep Ellum. The options are endless here – get your chicken naked (no batter), sexy (no batter with hot chicken oil) or hot (batter with sauce and mixed peppers) – whichever way you get it, you can't go wrong.

I have heard the phrase "fried chicken doesn't belong on a biscuit" several times. Those people are liars, and Whistle Britches proves that I am right. Started in 2016 by James Beard nominee Chef Omar Flores, Whistle Britches feels like you are in someone's ordinary backyard, whilst having some of the best fried chicken of your life.
