It's also the unofficial start of the summer season and we're so ready to enjoy longer days, warmers temps and plenty of sun heading into June. Soak in the sunshine, uncovering family-friendly fun and outdoor activities for this long weekend.
Dallas Memorial March
Honor our military heroes by embarking on an 11-minute march across the White Rock Lake area. Veteran-founded organization Carry the Load will be hosting the Dallas Memorial March at Reverchon Park from May 24 to 25. Experience live music and flag ceremonies while paying homage to Dallas's local veteran community.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
The Dallas Arboretum and Gardens, located on the shores of White Rock Lake, is a perennial favorite of locals and visitors alike. There are 66 acres to explore that include many beautiful and unique gardens, like A Woman's Garden with an infinity pool and views of the lake, and the McCasland Sunken Garden.
Events over the Memorial Weekend include cooking demos and tours.
Dallas Symphony Orchestra Concert
The DSO is celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with performances of Top Gun: Maverick in Concert! The concerts are May 22-24, 2026 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and tickets start at $59.
Klyde Warren Park
Any time is a great time to visit Klyde Warren Park, the city's unique deck park built over a freeway. Five acres provide ample space to picnic, fountains for splashing about, a dog park, a children's park, and stages for live entertainment. Check their website for special events happening throughout the weekend, and don't forget to dine at the food trucks!
The George W. Bush Presidential Center
Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary over Memorial Day weekend with special exhibits at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Explore a striking outdoor art installation by Dallas-based artist George Tobolowsky, discover how Independence Day celebrations have changed over time at the America’s Birthday: A History of Independence Day Story Walk exhibit, and uncover how sports has played an integral role in American history at Game Changer: United by Sports.
