EXPLORE YOUR MUSICAL PALATTE
Hailing from Fort Worth, Cut Throat Finches embraces alt-country roots, blending Texas-bred storytelling and open-road twang with the grit and energy that first put them on the map. They’ll be slinging twang-tinged guitars and open-road rhythms from songs from their new album High Horse.
Elias y su Orquesta is a 10-piece international ensemble specializing in Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Bachata, paying tribute to Latin classic hits from the likes of Marc Anthony and Héctor Lavoe.
Brandon Blue, a Dallas-based DJ known for spinning open-format sets with musical genres like house, R&B, Latin, Afro, and dancehall, was named Best DJ of 2025 (Dallas Observer) and Best R&B Night (Dallas Entertainment Awards) and has performed across top venues in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. His residencies consistently pack out rooms.
If you live in Texas, isn’t it about time you learn how to BOOT-SCOOT-BOOOOGIE? Our friends at The Round-Up Saloon will be teaching an introductory-friendly lesson on how to line dance. Beginners are welcome! Join in or just sit back and watch the fun.
Closing out Patio Sessions in November, Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts celebrates 50 years of showcasing the talent that has defined one of the nation’s premier arts magnet schools with a performance featuring students, alumni, and faculty honoring the past, present, and future.
CATCH ANOTHER SHOW AFTER PATIO SESSIONS
The Dallas Arts District isn’t just for classical art enthusiasts. There’s programming and attractions that appeal to anyone and everyone.
October 8, after Cut Throat Finches, did you know Counting Crows will be taking the stage in Strauss Square?
October 15, after Elias y su Orquesta, The Monsters, happening in the Wyly Studio Theatre and presented by Dallas Theatre Center, tells the story of a scrappy young fighter ready to enter the ring and connect with her older brother.
And November 12, after the 50th anniversary show by Booker T. Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, you can catch a special screening of TAKE ME HOME in Hamon Hall at the Winspear Opera House. Written and directed by AT&T Untold Stories winner Liz Sargent, TAKE ME HOME follows Anna, a 38-year-old Korean adoptee with a cognitive disability who is caring for her aging parents amid a Florida heat wave, upending the family’s fragile balance of meeting one another’s needs.
Or head a few blocks south to The Majestic Theatre where you can enjoy THE CARPENTERS SONGBOOK: A LIVE CELEBRATION, bringing together iconic songs from the brother-sister duo, like “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Close to You,” and “Rainy Days and Mondays” to the accompaniment of a live band.
