Mocky Horror Picture Show Riffs "Plan Nine from Outer Space"
The first movie the Mocky Horror Picture Show ever riffed happened in 2018. They took on Ed Wood's immortal classic "Plan Nine from Outer Space."
People called the movie riffing comedy group "crazy," "out of their minds," "cuckoo bananas," "wacko," "wacky (but not in a good way)," and several other words that shouldn't be repeated here.
Yes, "Plan Nine" is an objectively awesome movie made by a filmmaker with nothing but a dream, some cardboard headstones, and a chiropractor who looked exactly like the late Bela Lugso from his eyes to the top of his bald head. That didn't stop them from writing the first of many riff scripts that would launch them into the highest echelons of comedy movie riffing.
So join Dallas's only live, interactive, movie-mocking comedy as they return to their cinematic roots with a special, one-night only riff of Ed Wood's most famous film at 8 pm on Saturday, Sept. 27 at La Cantera Arts Conservatory (1050 N. Westmoreland Road). Tickets are just $5 per person and everyone who attends has a chance to win prizes from our friends at Collected Comics in Haltom City and Fort Worth!
Mocky Horror stars comedians Liz Barksdale, Danny Gallagher, and Albie Robles riffs on a movie live in front of an audience in a real movie theater. They also write prompts for the audience so they can help them mock the movie with special prompts that tell them when to shout certain lines and use props to interact with the movie. They even provide the props for every show!
