Bastille on Bishop
Trade one summer city for another. Every July 14, the Bishop Arts District swaps its Texas backdrop for a French one, and Oak Cliff pours into the streets in berets and rosé for Bastille on Bishop. There's live music, dancing, and a wine glass in nearly every hand, all set along a neighborhood that traces its own roots back to La Reunion, the 19th-century French colony that helped shape this corner of Dallas.
Roaming the festival is free, so wander from Bishop and 7th to Bishop and 9th, duck into the shops and restaurants, and let the block feel a little like the Champs-Élysées for the night. Grab a ticket package for your commemorative wine glass and drink tokens, and settle in for a summer evening that runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and rain or shine.
