Visit Dallas is excited to continue the Can-Do Spirit Awards for a third consecutive year to showcase the best and brightest in our community – local visionaries and game-changers who embody the Maverick, Can-Do Spirit that sets Dallas apart – or as we lovingly call them, Can-Doers!

Criteria:

Eligible Dallasites should represent at least one of the core Dallas brand pillars:

A diverse community of people - a rich tapestry of cultures
Creative culinary influence - our unique recipe
Arts and entertainment - an unwavering commitment
Future-facing innovative audacity - a bold city that takes big swings
Iconic sports culture - locally revered, globally recognized

Nominees must be individuals who are 21 years of age or older and currently work or reside within Dallas city limits. Full Terms & Conditions.

Process:

Nominations are open until 11:59 p.m. CT on August 7, 2026. Nominees will be evaluated by the Visit Dallas Brand Identity Committee to select finalists. The public will then vote on these finalists between September 1, 2026 and October 9, 2026 to identify one individual in each Brand Pillar to be recognized by Visit Dallas with a Can-Do Spirit Award. The winners will be announced during the 2026 Visit Dallas Annual Meeting.
