Held once a year even summer

This summer, AURORA presents the return of Art Quest—a neighborhood scavenger hunt in which outstanding works by regional artists are awarded as prizes to participants.

Through this unique initiative, AURORA brings innovative, original artworks into public spaces, and invites participants to engage with creativity in new and meaningful ways. Art Quest inspires curiosity and community engagement across the digital divide by creating free, fun, family-friendly art events in diverse Dallas neighborhoods.

The first Art Quest event will take place in Bachman on June 4, 2025, from 9 am until 1:30 pm at Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School, with two artworks by Nicolás González. Participants will have the opportunity to win a 3D-printed sculpture created for this occasion, along with the original work by the artist that served as its source.

Throughout the Art Quest event (9am-1:30 pm), AURORA will host a community gathering event in partnership with Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School. As well as the scavenger hunt, there will be a range of activities, including arts and crafts for the guests to get involved with, free snow cones for kids, as well as representatives from some of the amazing arts, culture, and community organisations in Bachman who will share details about their upcoming programming.The artwork prize will also be on public view at the event and the artist will be present.

How to Participate

Starting at 9 am, all participants should join the community gathering event at Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School.

At 11 am, the first clue will be handed out onsite to start the quest.

At 11:10 am, it will also be shared on AURORA’s social media channels—Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn⁠—for participants not present at the event location.

Participants are invited to follow along, racing to find three clue cards at three different locations. The scavenger hunt ends when the first person with all three clues cards returns to the community gathering event at Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School.

The winner will take Nicolas Gonzalez’ artworks, along with a certificate of authenticity, and will have the opportunity to meet the artist.
