The pool is reserved for hotel guests unless you’re there for one of the venue’s impressive special events, where you can splash and sip away the hours. Be on the lookout for a free yoga session on the rooftop because awesome views don’t always accompany cocktails.

Saint Rocco's

Head west to Trinity Groves for an Italian dinner and drinks at Saint Rocco’s. After dinner, check out the upstairs rooftop lounge – it offers comfortable seating and the best view of the Dallas skyline, along with signature cocktails to sip on throughout the night.

Happiest Hour

The bustling Harwood District offers diners and drinkers multiple options across various globally inspired cuisines, but Happiest Hour brings the party to the people. With an expansive lawn area and a rooftop patio overlooking Victory Park and the downtown skyline, it’s a fun place to pop in from brunch to late night. The weekday Happiest Hours from 4-6 pm and 9-10 pm feature half-priced “Happytizers” and select cocktails. Also, it’s a must-visit stop along the Margarita Mile.

On the 10th floor of Thompson Dallas, Catbird transitions seamlessly from its swanky indoor lounge to the stunning outdoor space featuring up-close-and-personal views of the skyscrapers surrounding it. Special times to visit include Mahjong & Martini Mondays, Tuesday Jazz Night, and live music each Wednesday.

Nine floors up at the Tru by Hilton Dallas Market Center, a respite from the urban chaos awaits. Fire pits add to the ambiance on rare chilly nights while craft cocktails warm from the inside out. This rooftop tequila bar invites you to sip, savor, and unwind with skyline views and bold cocktails.

Upside West Village

Atop the Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown, this not-so-hidden but slightly lesser-known rooftop venue boasts one of the best skyline views in the neighborhood. Shared plates rule the food section of the menu, while signature cocktails and wines by the glass or bottle dominate the libations. After a round or two, catch the free McKinney Avenue Trolley downstairs and head to another spot to end the evening.

The Pool Club at Virgin Hotels Dallas

Book a Day Pass to get the most out of your visit to this 4th-floor oasis in the Dallas Design District. It’s the only way to access the pool and that’s a big reason to enjoy The Pool Club, especially in the hotter months. Reserve your Day Pass or VIP Poolside Cabana, Daybed, or Sofa up to 30 days in advance.

JR’s Bar & Grill

Though more of a balcony bar than a rooftop one, this list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of one of the LGBT entertainment district’s most popular bars. Grab a cold beverage and sidle up to the second-floor railing, where you can people-watch day or night as happy party people move between restaurants, dance clubs, and boutique shops.

Vetted Well

Start with a movie and popcorn downstairs at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Cedars, then stick around for a little time on one of two rooftop patios where downtown Dallas is the special guest star. Local beers and craft cocktails mingle on the menu with burgers, pizzas, salads, and shakes (which can be boozy if you want it!)

HQ Rooftop Bar

The Courtyard Dallas Downtown/Reunion District’s rooftop bar offers one of the closest views of Reunion Tower. Each night, it dances with lights for a free show to go with your Cucumber This or Paloma That. (Those are actual cocktail names, by the way.) The bar is also available for private events should you want to share the scenery with a larger group of friends, family, or co-workers.
