A duo indie/alternative based in Dallas with big cinematic sounds and huge reverb guitars along with some rock guitars that help drive their sound. Alvizo had already been gigging around Dallas solo since 2014 before he and Olivarez linked up in 2021, and since then Neon Swami has quietly worked its way through nearly every stage in the city that matters. Jamboloo Festival, Deep Ellum Arts Festival, Dallas Launch Festival, Rubber Gloves, Ferris Wheeler, Double Wide, Ruins, Armory D.E., RBC, Texas Tea Room, Sahara Lounge, Club Dada, Dr. Jekyll’s Beer Lab, a UNT late-night set, Deep Ellum Art Co., Angela’s Crosswalk, Prophet Bar. That’s not a highlight reel. That’s just Tuesday for a band that’s spent five years building the following one small room at a time instead of skipping straight to the rooms with green rooms.
