Sweet Charity
Lyric Stage proudly presents Sweet Charity, the original 1966 Broadway musical, as part of its 32nd season. This groovy, heartfelt classic gets an intimate 50-seat staging at Lyric Stage Studio in Dallas, the closest you'll ever sit to a Bob Fosse-inspired show.
Inspired by Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria, Sweet Charity follows the turbulent love life of Charity Hope Valentine, a hopelessly romantic but comically unfortunate dance hall hostess in 1960s New York City. With a tuneful, mid-century score by Cy Coleman, sparkling lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and a hilarious book by Neil Simon, the show captures all the energy, humor, and heartbreak of life in the big city for an irrepressible optimist.
Featuring beloved musical numbers including “Big Spender,” “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” “I’m a Brass Band,” and “Baby, Dream Your Dream.”
Twelve performances only, April 17–May 3, 2026. Opening night Friday, April 17 at 7:30pm with a special $42.50 ticket price. Tickets range from $42.50 to $62.50.
