I love starting with a cafecito and empanada at Espumoso. It's a cozy spot where you feel right a thoem, surrounded by the warmth of Latin hospitality.

2Self-Care at Crecer

A visit with my Puerto Rican stylist, Carla, at Crecer is a reset. The vibe is peaceful and welcoming, from the plants to the music to the artist. It's a little haven of Latina girl zen, and a reminder that self-care is also part of heritage and empowerment.

3Lunch at La Pasadita 2 & Fresh Fruit at La Piña Loca

Pupusas followed by fresh fruit from the fruteria next door are the perfect combo. The authentic flavors and fresh fruit are always a hit for me and for my kids.

4Evening at the Latino Cultural Center

Whether it's an art installation, event, or performance, the Center has long been part of my family's story. My kids once danced Ballet Folklórico there with Alegre Ballet Folklórico, and we carry many memories from this space.

5Alternative — Concert at Dos Equis Pavilion

When a Latin artist is in town, nothing beats celebrating the music that connects us across generations in this amazing, outdoor venue.

What do you love about Hispanic culture in Dallas?

Hispanics are such a huge part of the Dallas story, and I love how visible that heritage is throughout our city, in the food, the art, the traditions, and the community that makes Dallas feel like home.

Avila's has been a staple for my husband's family for generations, and we've carried that tradition into our own celebrations. It feels like home with every meal.

2Girl Scouts of Southern Dallas

As a board member and Girl Scout mom, I'm often at the STEM center or soon-to-open Girl Scout DreamLab with my daughter. We especially love their Hispanic Heritage Month events, and I'm proud that Girl Scouts celebrates our culture and empowers girls.

3Late Lunch at El Ranchito

El Ranchito is a Dallas institution known for authentic Mexican food, live Mariachis, and festive vibes. It's a really fun, immersive, and delicious way to celebrate Hispanic heritage in Oak Cliff.

4Afternoon Stroll in Trinity Groves & Margaritas at Beto & Son

I love walking under the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, exploring the ArtPark, and wrapping up with margaritas at Beto & Son. It's where traditon meets modern Dallas energy.
