Celebración del Mes de la Herencia Asiática y de las Islas del Pacífico

Mayo es el Mes de la Herencia Asiática y de las Islas del Pacífico y Dallas se une a la celebración. Durante todo el mes, tanto los habitantes como los visitantes tienen la oportunidad de sumergirse en las ricas tradiciones, la apasionante historia y las diversas culturas que la comunidad AAPI aporta al mosaico estadounidense. Desde deliciosas experiencias gastronómicas que recorren las vastas tradiciones culinarias de Asia hasta exposiciones en museos que iluminan las profundas contribuciones de la comunidad AAPI, Dallas ofrece multitud de formas de honrar la herencia AAPI este mes.

Colección Samurai

Selectivamente comisariada por Ann y Gabriel Barbier-Mueller, la Colección Samurai contiene una gran cantidad de artefactos como armaduras, cascos, armaduras de caballo y armamento que datan de entre los siglos VII y XIX. Descubra el arte y las armaduras de los guerreros samuráis con la última exposición del museo, Hombres de hierro. Situada en el distrito de Harwood, encima del Saint Ann's Restaurant + Bar, esta colección es la única de su clase en Estados Unidos y una de las mayores del mundo. Museo Crow de Arte Asiático

Con el objetivo de inspirar y promover el aprendizaje y el diálogo sobre las artes y culturas de Asia a través de exposiciones selectivas, investigación y conservación, programación artística y educativa y la experiencia de los visitantes, una visita al Museo Crow de Arte Asiático es una forma maravillosa de celebrar el Mes de la Herencia AAPI. Las exposiciones actuales incluyen "Divine Spark: Kana Harada", con obras de la artista de Dallas creadas durante la pandemia para inspirar un futuro pacífico y brillante para todos, y "Vishnu: Across Time and Space", centrada en uno de los dioses más populares y poderosos del panteón hindú, celebrándolo como el Preservador y por su capacidad para restablecer el equilibrio en el universo. Dallas is celebrating the rich and diverse cultures of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander heritage at the AT&T Discovery District! The 4th annual celebration starts at 2 p.m. and is filled with performances, delicious food specials, and an eclectic mix of beats by a live DJ. Then at 7 p.m., the Lawn turns into one-of-a-kind cinematic experience featuring the beloved Disney hit, Moana 2, on their 104ft Media Wall. Self-parking is available at the 1212 Jackson Street garage. It’s complimentary with AT&T Discovery District merchant validation from the Exchange Hall, Cowboy Cho, or the AT&T Store.

Join the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the third annual AAPI Heritage Month Family Weekend at the AT&T PAC in collaboration with the Dallas Police Department. Once again, Sammons Park will be full of beautiful artisanal vendors, community representatives from different Asian countries, delicious food stalls and trucks, and incredible local performers. Come enjoy local musicians, martial artists, dancers, and experience a traditional lion dance. This year we will be featuring their AT&T PAC Culinary Passport activity, where you can get stamps and stickers from different Asian communities’ booths while you try the yummy cultural snacks they have to offer.* Once you’ve collected all of the stamps, enter your completed passport into a raffle for your chance to win tickets to an upcoming show!
