Public ArtWalk Dallas!

Get closer to the art and architecture of Dallas with the Business Council for the Arts' 30-stop, 3.3-mile walking tour, Public ArtWalk Dallas. The ArtWalk launched May 15. Maps are available at the Public ArtWalk Dallas Web site and will be available at various locations, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center, which is the recommended starting point for the tour. On the Web site, you can find out how many calories you've burned and the number of steps taken, along with fitness tips and details, and downloadable MP3 files.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra

To experience more world-class entertainment, check out the Dallas Symphony Orchestra celebrated with conductor Jaap Van Zweden. From movie screenings scored live to Beach Boys and Gipsy Kings concerts to the works of Beethoven and Mahler, year-round performances at the Morton H. Dallas Holocaust Museum

For an equally historical experience, visit the Dallas Holocaust Museum. The museum is dedicated to teaching the lessons of the holocaust and memorializing its victims through its large collection of audiovisual materials, including videotapes, slides, microfiche, and over 2,500 books. Because of its content only children ages 10 and older are recommended to visit.

Meadows Museum

For art lovers, a trip to Dallas should also include a visit to the Meadows Museum. Housing the largest and most comprehensive selection of Spanish art outside of Spain, any visitor is sure to appreciate some of the Spanish Golden Age greats.

Shakespeare Festival of Dallas

For an equally educational experience, try the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas. What started as a free summer festival in 1971 has grown into an annual tradition that attracts more than thousands each year. Bring your own blanket and cooler.

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

Any trip to Dallas should start at the city’s famous visitor site, the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. The museum that spans the sixth and seventh floors of the Texas School Book Depository Building examines the life, times, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy with photographs, artifacts and displays. More than 6 million people have visited the museum since its opening on Presidents’ Day in 1989.
