Seven homes in two historic areas of Garland will be decked out in Christmas finery and open to the public from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, for the 2019 Magical Christmas Candlelight Home Tour. The tour homes in Garland's Travis College Hill and Embree additions date to the turn of the last century up through the current day. Horse-drawn carriage rides will take guests throughout the illuminated streets of Travis College Hill, platted in 1913. Carriage-ride tickets are sold separately. A vintage Santa will pose for photos and will tell about Christmases in the long ago. Carolers from area churches and organizations will perform at 20-minute intervals during much of the home tour. Guests can sip hot cocoa in the outdoor kitchen of one of the vintage homes or hear a vintage Santa Claus tell about Christmases in the long-ago. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Sponsored by Friends of Garland's Historic Magic 11th Street.
