Shakespeare Dallas, North Texas' leading professional theatre company performing the works of William Shakespeare, announces the year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary will culminate with a performance of Hamlet. Performances will run September 7 through October 15 and will be held at Samuell-Grand Amphitheater, located at 1500 Tenison Parkway in Dallas. Tickets are on sale now Known as one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, Hamlet returns home to the world-shattering news that his father is dead and his mother has married his father's brother. Hamlet fakes his own madness after a ghostly encounter, but the psychological effects drive Hamlet to murder, revenge, and loss of his kingdom to a neighboring state. Shakespeare Dallas' interpretation will feature an all-woman cast and will be directed by celebrated local actress and director Christie Vela.
