As the temperature drops in the New Year, so does the price of admission at the Dallas Zoo. From Jan. 2 to Feb. 28, guests can visit Texas's oldest and largest zoo for just $8 per person during Penguin Days Presented by Highland Capital Management. (Children age 2 and younger and Dallas Zoo members are always free.)
Bundle up and come see many of the zoo's animals (weather permitting, of course), and take advantage of indoor learning areas like the Herpetarium, Bug U!, the Jake L. Hamon Gorilla Conservation Research Station, the Highland Hippo Hut and the Simmons Safari Base Camp.
New this year from Jan. 2–Jan. 31:
- Get to know the zoo's African penguins with daily keeper chats and feedings at 10:30 a.m. at the Don Glendenning Penguin Cove.
- Plus, guests can learn how to protect these endangered birds at the Penguin Conservation Station daily from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., also at Penguin Cove.
