The Dallas area is the Southwest's only metro area to host teams from five major professional sports leagues. Its passion for sports runs wide and deep, extending to amateur, collegiate, recreational and spectator. There's something here for every taste.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most recognizable sports franchises worldwide and one of the most successful teams in the history of the National Football League, boasting five Super Bowl Championships (1971, 1977, 1992, 1993 and 1995).

Cowboys Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, was built in 2009 and has hosted high-profile sporting events such as Super Bowl XLV and the 2010 NBA All-Star game. Tours of the Stadium are available daily.

Dallas Diamonds

The Dallas Diamonds, established in 2002, are the most successful sports franchises in women’s football. Holding four World Championship titles (2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008). These tough ladies play full contact, high excitement football just like their NFL counterparts. The Diamonds’ season kicks off in April and runs through July. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks began as a National Basketball Association (NBA) expansion franchise in 1980. The club has had ten consecutive seasons with more than 50 wins, which is the third longest streak in NBA history. In June 2011, the Dallas Mavericks became NBA World Champions for the first time in franchise history.

Dallas Vigilantes

Arena Football made its triumphant return the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex when the Dallas Vigilantes began its inaugural Arena Football League in 2010.  A different entity from its AFL predecessor, the Dallas Desperados, the Vigilantes revived the league’s Dallas franchise through new ownership and a new brand of Arena Football.
Poised and ready for its second year in the league, the football club began the 2011 AFL season with high expectations and an attitude to do whatever it takes to earn its first ArenaBowl title.

EDS Byron Nelson Championship

The HP Byron Nelson Championship has been a premier event on the PGA TOUR since 1968. Dallas’ biggest sports attraction and most anticipated social event of the spring is also the most financially successful charity event on the PGA TOUR, raising over $116 million for children and families served by Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers. FC Dallas

As the reigning Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas earned its first trip to the MLS Cup in 2010 following a record-setting year that saw the club set MLS marks for its 19-game unbeaten streak and its 12-game road unbeaten streak. The Dallas side also tied the MLS mark for fewest losses in an MLS season with four, while the Dallas defense allowed the fewest goals against in club history with only 28 through 30 games.  For more information or tickets to games visit FCDallas.com.

Lone Star Park

Lone Star Park is a world-class major league sports venue featuring live horse racing during the spring and fall. Television monitors inside an enclosed climate controlled grandstand and infield giant screen Jumbo Tron that assures unimpeded racing views.

This state-of-the-art 36,000-square-foot pavilion is open six days a week for thoroughbred and quarter horse racing. Thoroughbred Season from April-July. Hours: Thurs.-Fri. 6:35 p.m. post time. Texas Motor Speedway

Home of the two largest single-day sporting events in Texas, Texas Motor Speedway is one of the largest sports and entertainment facilities in America. This state-of-the-art complex hosts a variety of entertainment events throughout the year. Marquee events include the twice-a-year NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Truck Series races and an annual visit from the IZOD IndyCar Series. In 2011, Texas Motor Speedway played host to it’s first-ever Saturday night NASCAR Sprint Cup race and the only twin-format race on the IZOD IndyCar Series schedule – the Firestone Twin 275s.

Texas Rangers

The 2012 Texas Rangers look to build on the success of the past two seasons when the club finished as the American League Champions and enjoyed back-to-back World Series appearances.
