When your group is in town and you have a few hours (or possibly a full day) to explore, show them the best of Texas right here in Dallas! Here is the perfect itinerary for creating the Texas experience for your group.

Stop 1: Get your cowboy gear
Shop for a custom hat or pair of cowboy boots at Wild Bill's Western Store. The legendary tore has been in the historic West End District for more than 50 years and is a must-stop for all the cowboy essentials, as well as the perfect memento to take back home.

Stop 2: Eat some local Tex-Mex
You can't come to Texas without trying Tex-Mex! Dallas has arguably the best in the state – with favorites like century-old favorite El Fenix, Salvadorian-inspired Gloria's Latin Cuisine, and the authentic Mexican flavors of Meso Maya all centrally located to the Downtown Dallas area. You can't go wrong at any of these local restaurants.

Stop 3: Go for margaritas
Another must-have while in Dallas – margaritas. After all, we are the official home of the frozen margarita so it's only right that you indulge here! Mariano Martinez (inventor of the frozen margarita) opened Mariano's restaurant in East Dallas in 1971 and the menu is full of unique margaritas that won't disappoint. Try their signature margaritas like the Fire & Ice or The Tickled Pink for a different take on the traditional cocktail.

Stop 4: See live music and practice your two-step
Dallas is full of live music venues and Deep Ellum is a great neighborhood to hear good music almost every night of the week. Check out Adair's Saloon for a fun, honky-tonk experience, or Double Wide for a taste of rock and country. If you're interested in showing off your two-step skills, hit the dance floor at Round-Up Saloon, a country western gay bar located in Oak Lawn. The saloon also offers monthly dance lessons for free (Monday-Thursday)!
