The Cedar Springs district is more than the epicenter of LGBT culture in Dallas, it's also home to many eclectic shops and restaurants perfect for any visitor. For the wine lovers among us, Cedar Springs is making Wednesdays even better with wine walks.
Hosted by the Cedar Springs Merchant Association, the First Wednesday Wine Walk takes place on the first Wednesday of each month. Check out The Strip on Cedar Springs and make your way to different shops, bars and restaurants, all with a wine glass in your hand.
The event kicks off at Round-Up Saloon and stops include Out of the Closet, a thrift store that benefits the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and ES Collection, a men's boutique featuring swimwear, casual clothes and athletic wear designed and made in Barcelona. Dallas is currently home to the only ES Collection store in the United States.
If you need a bite along with your wine, Hunky's should be on your line up. Their fried pickles are a local favorite, and their spacious, tree-lined patio is a perfect spot for people watching.
And a trip to Cedar Springs isn't complete without a visit to JR's Bar & Grill, a long-time Cedar Springs Road favorite and iconic Dallas bar. Stop by to enjoy a cocktail or brew on the upstairs outdoor deck.
Mark your calendar for the First Wednesday Wine Walk on Wednesday, Feb. 1 6-9 pm.
