July 24 is National Tequila Day! And Dallas has an abundance of great places to celebrate the day. Enjoy your favorite cocktail or margarita at the best places in town.
1. Taqueria La Ventana
Downtown
Go for frozen margaritas at La Ventana. They're kicking off the celebrations early, with $2 margs all day long from July 21-24, giving you plenty of time to get in line for a drink or two. Order a couple of street tacos and horchata to complete your experience.
2. Happiest Hour
Uptown
This swanky two story spot is buzzing every day of the week, and it's perfect for grabbing drinks after work. Try one of their signature cocktails, and order something to snack on throughout the night – the loaded cheddar waffle fries or tuna nachos are equally great. It really will be the happiest hour of your day.
3. Meso Maya
Downtown
This Mayan-inspired Mexican restaurant has an impressive drink menu, with award-winning tequilas that are too good to pass up. The staple here is the must-try avocado margarita, made with avocado, pineapple and lime juice. And you can't forget about the food – the chicken serrano enchiladas and the cochinita pibil, a tangy pork dish served with white rice and black beans, will more than satisfy your appetite.
4. The Rustic
Uptown
Head to this Texas-themed restaurant and bar that's got an extensive drink menu with something for everyone. They offer more than a dozen tequilas to make the tastiest cocktails like the Rustic Rita, which is always a solid choice. Stay late for the live music on the patio, and add a few appetizers, like the cactus fritters (yes, real cactus), to snack on during the show.
5. Beto and Son
West Dallas
The restaurant is named after a father and son duo that's leading the charge on new-age Tex-Mex in Dallas, and they have some exciting ideas for the bar as well. Their margarita menu ranges from a classic house margarita made with blue agave to the sweet and spicy Fireball Tequila Margarita. If you come hungry, order the tableside guacamole or loaded nachos.
6. Gloria's
Uptown, Lower Greenville, South Dallas
This Latin staple is a Dallas favorite serving delightful dishes and big-hit drinks. If you're in the mood for a margarita, there's half a dozen to choose from, like the Spicy Pineapple or Fresh Guavo. Or go for a cocktail with the Patron Fresca, and pair it with a sweet treat like the flan or tres leches cake.
7. Bolsa
Bishop Arts District
With more than a dozen tequilas on the menu, the options are endless here. The Verdita and Bad Hombre are a few local favorites for a refreshing drink. While you're at it, enjoy dinner from their seasonally-inspired menu that's got everything from burgers to pork chops to shrimp and grits.
