It seems like Christmas may have come early this year at the Arboretum. With 500,000 lights, tons of daily activities and holiday treats, the garden will bring the whole family holiday cheer.
Stroll through the 12 Days of Christmas exhibit
These lighted and elaborate gazebo displays capture every scene of the popular Christmas carol, guaranteed to get you excited for the holidays. Take a stroll through the garden with the family (day or night) with a cup of hot chocolate. The daily displays run through Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the night displays through (Wednesday to Sunday).
Take your picture with Santa Claus
Get your Christmas pictures taken with Santa at the garden in Crape Myrtle Allee, the perfect holiday setting resplendent with twinkling lights. Bring your little ones to meet the big jolly fellow on Wednesday nights (Nov. 15-Dec. 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) or Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 25-Dec. 24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Be sure to also visit his little elves in the Elves Workshop for arts and crafts and holiday games Wednesday through Sunday nights (Nov. 8-Dec. 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.).
Sing Along to Holiday Karaoke
Be the star of the show with Holiday Karaoke on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn. Sing along to your favorite Christmas jams with friends and family on Sunday nights (Nov. 26, Dec. 3, 10 & 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.).
See the Nutcracker Suite at the DeGolyer House
The historic and lavishly decorated DeGolyer house turns into a holiday wonderland with more than 800 nutcrackers on display with each room depicting a scene from the Nutcracker ballet. The Nutcracker Suite opens daily (Nov. 24-Jan. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and on Wednesday nights (Nov. 29-Dec. 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.). Visit during the day and stop by Restaurant DeGolyer for some holiday tea from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Enjoy an Outdoor Movie Night
Have a holiday movie night at the Arboretum! The garden will host its first-ever outdoor movie experience with a showing of "Elf" on the Martin Rutchik Lawn on Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Bring a blanket and a friend and enjoy a hilarious Christmas classic.
Stop by the Holiday Market
Searching for unique and personal gift to give for the holidays? Visit the Holiday Market on Dec. 2-3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will find antiques, vintage and handmade items including knitwear, fused glass, jewelry and more.
Take the Kids to Happy "Noon" Year's Eve
Join the Arboretum for a child-friendly event on Dec. 31 to celebrate the New Year. Instead of keeping your children up until midnight, enjoy a day full of science, crafts and music with a celebratory "ball drop" at noon. There will also be a variety of different activities at the Children's Adventure Garden.
