The holiday season brings on the usual collection of festive events like tree lightings, neighborhood light tours, shopping and Christmas carols. But we decided to gather a list of Dallas' more out-of-the-box events and activities to give you even more festive options to make celebrating the holidays all your own.

Nuncrackers A-MEN!
Uptown Players is taking in the holiday cheer with their production of "Nuncrackers A-MEN!" Taking the stage at Kalita Humphreys Theatre from Dec. 6 - 15, guests will enjoy non-stop holiday humor as the sisters tape their first TV special in the Cable Access Studio built by Reverend Mother in the convent basement. Tickets start at $30 but I know you'd be willing to pay anything to hear the cast's renditions of "Twelve Days Prior to Christmas," "Santa Ain't Comin' to Our House," or even "We Three Kings of Orient Are Us," so grab your seats – tickets are available on the Uptown Players website.

 DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular

"DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular" is coming to the Winspear Opera House. Centered on the power and energy of a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) marching band, this event will combine gospel, jazz, and Motown with familiar holiday classics to create an unforgettable musical experience

Tickets range from $29-$69 and there are only two performances, scheduled for 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, so don't wait or you may just miss your chance. Check out the website for more details.

Holiday Brunch
Brunch fans and friends alike can take part in the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden's Holiday Brunch. Catered by White Rock Ale House and Brewery, the menu will include chicken and waffles, breakfast tacos, bacon, hash browns and more. And it wouldn't be brunch without a coffee bar, ale house mimosas – plus guests will finish off with a round of Christmas cookies.

It's all happening on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at A Tasteful Place, the arbortetum's garden, pavilion and kitchen. Tickets are $55 for Arboretum members and $60 for all other guests. Stir up your appetite and get your tickets from the event website.

Taco Christmas Lights Tour
If you can't decide between tinsel or tacos, Dallas by Chocolate Tours is hosting a Christmas Lights Tour that will include tacos and margaritas! The $69 ticket gets you access to the party at Desperados Mexican Restaurant and a seat on the motorcoach for a tour of The Park Cities Christmas lights. Dinner and drinks will be served at the restaurant and then guests will board their coach for dessert and more beverage options to enjoy during the tour. Guests are even welcome to BYOB in a small cooler for the ride. There are multiple tour nights available between Dec. 6 - 29 and all tours start at 5:30 p.m. Check out the event page for more details.

Black on Black
Black on Black is Dallas Black Dance Theatre's holiday season show that includes not only the stunning dance performance but a happy hour and after-party before and after the show. It's talent on talent in this co-produced performance from two dance companies that will leave you speechless in your seats. Ringing in the holidays has never contained so much power and grace.

Shows are being offered Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. and you can get your tickets through the AT&T Performing Arts Center website.

Teddy Bear Party
You can make a difference while celebrating the holidays this year with the 9th Annual Teddy Bear Party on Friday, Dec.13. This organization puts on one magnificent party and at the same time makes an impact in the community by partnering with Children's Health and local non-profit organizations. Part of the ticket cost is a teddy bear donation that will be delivered to Children's Health Hospital over the holidays. And ticket proceeds are distributed to organizations like Equality Texas, Stand Up To Cancer and The Trevor Project.

Tickets are on sale now. They'll be announcing headliner entertainment soon and DJ Dan Slater will be keeping the beat going throughout. It's all happening at F.I.G. starting at 8 p.m.

A Drag Queen Christmas
A Drag Queen Christmas - The Naughty Tour will return to the House of Blues Dallas for a hilarious holiday celebration on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. Drag queens from RuPaul's Drag Race will headline the evening of performance and comedy that will snatch your fig pudding. The event is open to all, including those who needed to google that last reference, but please know there will be some adult content in the show.

VIP tickets are available which include premium seating and a meet and greet event before the show with the queens, most of them likely on Santa's naughty list. Find more details and even purchase tickets on the events Facebook page.
